Programme Aims
The aim of ‘The Core Wind Turbine Safety Rules’ is to provide high quality and flexible delivered training and information to ensure the attendees have a full understanding of the Wind Turbine Safety Rules and how they are to be applied and implemented at site or by a Company. The training will also educate attendees to a level that adds to competence and allows formal authorization.
Learning Outcomes
The programme provides opportunities for participants to develop and demonstrate knowledge and understanding, qualities, skills and other attributes in the areas listed below:
- Policy, Philosophy and Principles underpinning the WTSR.
- Understand how the Wind Turbine Safety Rules are positioned in the UK Legal Framework and why they must be implemented on site.
- Understand how the Wind Turbine Safety Rules are positioned in a Safety Management System and other Safety Rules, including from Risk Assessment to Safe System of Work.
- Understanding behaviours and attitudes in the application of the rules including the significance of risk perception and its effect on choice and behaviour (e.g. ‘Stop and Ask’).
- How everyone can play a positive role in ‘leading by example’ in the application of the Wind Turbine Safety Rules and Personal Discipline.

ABOUT THIS COURSE
This course is designed to be an add on module to complement the Core WTSR Training Course with additional information on the roles and responsibilities of the Operational Controller. Therefore, it is prerequisite to attend the Core WTSR Training Course before attending this module.
Objectives:
At the end of this course you should have a clear understanding the duties of an Operational Controller in relation to the requirements of the WTSR and where required, be in position to be nominated formally to carry out that role correctly.
Delegates should be able to demonstrate an applied understanding of the WTSR in relation to the OC and the importance of the transfer of control process.
Company specific scripts and processes can be added to this course to replicate day to day practice.

Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA)
Target audience
This course is designed for frontline operatives, site engineers, supervisors, and contractors who need to evaluate real-time hazards immediately before commencing any task.

Conditions on site can change rapidly between the initial risk assessment and actual task execution. This course provides delegates with the practical skills to conduct a dynamic Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA), enabling them to identify last-minute hazards, evaluate localized risks, and ensure safe working conditions before starting work.
Key Learning Outcomes
- Understand the purpose and importance of dynamic Point of Work Risk Assessments

COSHH is the law that requires employers to control substances that are hazardous to health.
This course has the following learning outcomes:
